From Athens we travel to Peloponnese where you will admire the Corinth Canal, the most important navigational route of Greece. The Isthmus of Corinth is a narrow land bridge near the city of Corinth, which connects the Peloponnese with the mainland of Greece.

The first attempt to build a canal there was carried out by the tyrant Periander in the 7th century BC and its construction completed in 1893.

Ancient Corinth was one of the largest and most important cities of Greece, with a population of 90,000 in 400 BC. The Romans demolished Corinth in 146 BC, built a new city in its place in 44 BC, and later made it the provincial capital of Greece. Ancient Corinth is a city of a great history. There is located the majestic temple of Apollo, but it is also known that that was the place, where Paul the Apostle wrote his epistles.

Epidaurus is a small city in ancient Greece and was named after the hero Epidauros, son of Apollo. Epidaurus is known for the Ancient theater of Epidaurus, which is located on the southeast end of the sanctuary dedicated Asclepius and it is widespread for its outstanding acoustics.

It was constructed at the end of the 4th century BC by Polykleitos the Younger and was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1988.

Mycenaean civilization was the great civilization that developed in Greece during the last phase of the Bronze Age (1600-1100 BC). As the great poet Homer mentions in his poems, the name of this civilization came from the city Mycenae, which was its most important center.

Mycenae, the homeland of Perseus, was the citadel of the great king Agamemnon who is known as the king who commanded the Greeks during the Trojan War.

In Mycenae is located the outstanding tholos tomb called The Treasury of Atreus. The treasury is also known as the Tomb of Agamemnon, who was murdered by his wife, Klytemnestra and his lover Aigisthos after his return from the Trojan War.

Nafplio, the first capital of Greece is one of the most attractive and romantic cities all over Greece, ideal for a walk in order to enjoy the idyllic sunset.

  • Ancient Olympia is the birthplace of the Olympic Games and the place where the first modern Olympic Games were held, in 1896 AD in Athens. Ancient Olympia is a city of a great importance that dates back to the coming of the Dorians and their worship of Zeus. There is located the massive statue of Zeus, which constituted one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Proceed to the archeological Museum to admire the sculptural decorations of the temple of Zeus and the votive statues, like the Praxiteles’ Hermes.
