Amalfi is the main town of the coast on which it is located, named Amalfi Coast, and today it is an important tourist destination together with Positano, Ravello and other towns of the same coast. Amalfi is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The patron saint of Amalfi is Saint Andrew, the Apostle, whose relics are kept here at Amalfi Cathedral.
