Overview

Savoca is renowned worldwide for her vital role in Francis Ford Coppola’s classic trilogy “The Godfather.” In this village you will visit the famous Bar Vitelli to admire the movie memorabilia. The Bar is known as the place where Michael Corleone meets Mr. Vitelli and asks his permission to court his daughter Apollonia, here the official engagement will also take place. After visiting the Church of Saint Lucia, you will trace the path that the newlyweds took during the wedding ceremony. Next stop is Forza D’Agro which is the background to many scenes shot in the trilogy: you will see typical alleys and a series of historic churches. Forza D’Agrò was also chosen by Francis Ford Coppola for his “The Godfather – Part III”: here was shot the scene in which the old Michael shows his American wife the birthplace of his father Vito Andolini di Corleone. In the charming village you can have your lunch and then return to the meeting point.
