Overview

This private tour of the excavations of Pompeii and the National Archaeological Museum of Naples was created by our team of experts to offer the visitors a unique experience to discover two of the most prestigious archaeological sites in the Campania region. Furthermore, to lead this day of discovery you will have a private REAL ARCHAEOLOGIST, a scholar of the ancient civilizations that inhabited this region in ancient times.

This is a walking tour (NO transportation is included) and the transfer between the two sites will take place by EAV Circumvesuviana railway trains (the trip between Pompeii and Naples takes about 45 minutes). Skip the line included in the ruins of Pompeii only. (Entrance tickets and train tickets are NOT included).

You’ll meet our professional English-speaking REAL Archaeologist by a pre-arranged meeting point by main entrance of Pompeii site (Porta Marina Superiore). You’ll spend 2 hours in each site (+ transfer time by train from a spot to another)

What you will do

Archaeological Park of Pompeii
This private guided tour in Pompeii with an archaeologist at your complete disposal lasts 2 hours. Generally, your archaeologist will follow a "classic" itinerary with you in order to maximize the number of monuments you can visit in two hours. But the itinerary can also be decided together with our expert: flexibility is maximum but it is advisable that you let us know your preferences in advance.

To make this day unforgettable, we think that there would be no better way than to visit in company of the Archaeologist also the Archaeological Museum of Naples (MANN) that keeps not only many of the finds discovered in the excavations of Pompeii, but also other incredible testimonies of ancient civilizations coming from all over the world. Here at MANN you will have the opportunity to admire the original artifacts (like statues, frescoes, mosaics) from the buildings of Pompeii that for reasons of safety and conservation cannot be displayed in situ (in their original place).

Meeting point

Meeting with the English-speaking ARCHAEOLOGIST by "Bar Sgambati". BAR SGAMBATI is located just outside the "Pompei Scavi Villa Dei Misteri" train station, so it is very easy if you arrive in Pompeii by CIRCUMVESUVIANA train from Sorrento.

End point: After Pompeii Ruins Guided Tour (duration 2 hours) , the group together with the guide will reach the ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF NAPLES by local Circumvesuviana train (train tickets are NOT included). After the Pompeii Tour (duration 2 hours) this Tour will end at Archaeological Museum of Naples.
