Overview
Step back into occupied Paris on a 2-hour, 2.5 km walk across the Left Bank, from Boulevard Saint-Michel to Notre-Dame. Your guide, Clément Daguet-Schott, is an independent guide and WWII history researcher; the tour is built from 20+ books, memoirs, and primary sources.
The story follows the war in order: the Fall of Paris in June 1940 at the Luxembourg Palace, which became the Luftwaffe headquarters in France; the first Resistance networks near the Sorbonne, with Agnès Humbert and the Musée de l'Homme network; and the Liberation of August 1944 at Notre-Dame, where de Gaulle attended the Te Deum under sniper fire, and how close Paris came to destruction.
Small group of up to 10 people, in English or French.
