Walk the famous Caminito del Rey, a walkway pinned to the walls of the El Chorro gorge high above the river, then explore the turquoise lakes and strange limestone landscapes of Málaga's mountains. A great short adventure for active travellers on a budget. The Caminito del Rey does not allow children under 8.

Day-by-day plan

Day 1: Into the Mountains
Transfer from Málaga to El Chorro. Evening by the turquoise lakes.
Day 2: Caminito del Rey
Guided walk of the Caminito del Rey (about 7.7 km, 3–4 hours), followed by a picnic lunch.
Day 3: El Torcal
Hike among the limestone formations of El Torcal, then return to Málaga in the afternoon.
